Libra, Facebook's cryptocurrency, is about to arrive
Facebook's cryptocurrency is on its way. Hated, criticized, opposed, hindered, finally almost forgotten: after long troubles, it seems that Mark Zuckerberg is now persuaded to permanently switch on the Libra project servers to start his own cryptocurrency.

News leaks from the Financial Times , where the possibility of an imminent start of the works is suggested: no confirmation or denial by the Libra Association itself.

Libra restarts?

It must be said that the Libra project was in the in the meantime strongly resized. If it is not in the aims and ambitions, it is certainly so at the level of "endorsement" given that large groups such as Mastercard, Visa, PayPal, Booking, eBay and Vodafone have slipped away, losing their support for the project. The same digital wallet "Calibra" has been redefined in "Novi", while many rules that should have supported the virtual currency have been rewritten to further cement security and avoid risks of abuse. 30% of the starting group has evaporated within a few months, the pandemic has done the rest: the project has been frozen, until today, until the new hypotheses of restart.

All this, however, is arid land of mistrust and fear has come to be created. The idea today is that of a Libra whose value would be linked to that of the US dollar, thus giving rise to a stablecoin with a more certain trend. But the biggest obstacle, at this point, seems to be that of trust on the part of users (and secondly that of trust on the part of institutions).

If the sources heard by the Financial Times are well informed, the time is now ripe and the debut is just around the corner. Now it is up to the Libra Association to speak, as long as there is someone in the Geneva offices.
